Guest Knitter In My Etsy Shop

Yesterday I wrote an article for nerdbastards.com about Guerrilla Knitters. An image of a skull hat was featured at the top. Carrol Mick knitted the hat and several readers contacted me to find out where they could get one. Mine was a gift from Carrol, so I decided to ask her if she has more to sell. Turns out she has them in all colors and several sizes, including for babies!

There are two versions of this hat. One with flaps, one without. You can find both in my Etsy shop.

Please take a look at the hats in my Etsy shop here.

Be sure to note in your order what size and color combo you want such as:
Large/Main Color Black/Skull Color Hot Pink
Please visit the shop and check out the other handmade things available as well! Happy shopping!

Bird of Prey Door Table How-To

My Etsy Shop -- M Design Boutique by Melissa Fouch

When I am not writing, I am a voracious hobbyist! I love cooking, brewing beer, making candles, soap and jewelry. I knit, weave and crochet scarves, hats, rugs, baby booties, etc. I spin my own yarn and try just about everything else you can think of if it involves gluing, painting, or otherwise making a mess! I used to own an online boutique, selling my own work along with the work of many other artists and artisans. I am now selling my own work from the boutique in my Etsy shop.

Please take a look here, and watch this blog for new item announcements, as one-of-a-kind pieces will be made available week by week.

My Candlemaking Articles

I love making things from scratch. One of my favorite things to make year-round is candles.  A few years ago I decided to sell my candles (I mean, I only need so many candles for myself!) on the side here, at Spoiled Cowgirl.

Over the years I've made candles for several weddings, local sales, fundraisers and as a gift everyone I know now expects during the holidays.

I've written a few articles for both the beginner and the advanced candle maker. Learn what supplies you'll need, where to get them and lots and lots of step-by-step instructions and tips for making this great fun project!

How to make hand-dipped candles.

How to make pillar candles.

Advanced tips for professional-looking candles.

Robots: The Zombies Of The Electronic World -- A Tour Of The Uncanny Valley

I love robots. I love zombies. It occurred to me recently that the two share some qualities that make them admirable to any card-carrying sci-fi or horror fan. They’re relentless, they’re pre-programmed (if you will) to complete specific tasks, and humans find them threatening and irresistible all at once. Enter “The Uncanny Valley”

Twelve Must-See Films To See In 2010

Lots of films didn’t make the cut for this list for the following reasons: 1. Certain directors and movies are too well-known and obvious to spend time recommending. 2. Some movies don’t need to be recommended to sci-fi nerds, horror freaks or pop-culture afficionados of any particular decade.  3. These vary on the obscurity scale, but they’re all beloved to this writer’s heart and colossally riveted into my psyche….and  4. There are only twelve spots on this list, so by all means use the comments section to make your Must-See Top 12 Films known.
